About Us

Begun in 2024, Orange County Queer Collective is a fledgling group working toward becoming a 501(c)(3) organization. We welcome all LGBTQ+ residents and allies of Orange County, New York to join us in building community and creating space to celebrate our authentic selves.
We hope to grow organically through curated events that center the creation, experience, or discussion of all kinds of art that is accessible to anyone. Think drag/burlesque/ballroom performances, open mics, physical collective art installments, queer and trans-themed book clubs - the sky’s the limit!
Our dream is to secure a physical location to host community events. We want to be the queer and trans living room for Orange County. But until then, we are working with what we have, and we hope to be working with you too! If our message resonates with you, we want you to be a part of what we are creating.

OCQC’s mission is to cultivate community for LGBTQ+ residents of Orange County, NY and their allies through gatherings that prioritize collective visual, literary, and performance art. We unabashedly celebrate trans and queer joy, embrace our beautiful diversity, and provide a space for folks to experience solidarity and the freedom of authenticity.

OCQC envisions a world in which all humans, regardless of sexuality or gender expression, are able to be their authentic selves in every aspect of their lives – without fear and supported by a vibrant community of LGBTQ+ folks and allies. We long for a world free from the systemic normativities, phobias, and -isms that leave any group of people marginalized or oppressed.

Our Priorities & Values

OCQC’s values are Creativity, Authenticity, Diversity, Community, Respect, and Compassion. And we intend to integrate them into all we do, big or small. Our priorities are fourfold:
